About FACE the MUSIC - Foreclosure Aid
About Us
Who We Are
Face The Music (FTM) Foreclosure Aid is a charitable organization founded in 2008 by Foreclosure crusaders William Kadish & Mutti Lewis, with the goal of providing hope and help to those already in, or about to enter Foreclosure. Both men believe that after they saved their own homes from the pain of Foreclosure, they felt a calling, and were chosen to lead the cause to save homeowners who were themselves facing or already in Foreclosure.
The Problem We Face
The current foreclosure crisis in America is a devastating, with the ongoing problem getting larger by the year. In 2007, there were 2,203,209 Foreclosures in the USA alone. By 2008, that number had risen to 3,157,806, and by the end of 2010, that number is estimated to stand at a staggering 12,727,219. Economists are now estimating that 2011 will see an additional 5,000,000 homes experience the anguish of Foreclosure.
Why We Do It
FTM was formed as a response to these shocking statistics, and because all other programs offered by the State and Federal governments fall short or have failed to address both the current problem and long-term effects of Foreclosure. As such, Face The Music Foreclosure Aid has now become a vital place for individuals and families to turn for both advice and financial help.
Where We Are
Based in Milford, Connecticut, FTM currently operate in Southern New England (Connecticut / Massachusetts / Rhode Island) and South Eastern New York State, and, with your help, are now looking to take the crusade nationwide.
History
The Beginnings
FTM is an organization borne out of personal experience. During May 2006 William and his wife, Tina, went into Foreclosure, and stayed there until February 2008 when their efforts to save their home paid off with a loan modification being granted to them.
During this period (2006-2008) William represented himself in court, filed his own Chapter 13 bankruptcy, and made a promise to God that if he could save his home, he would save at least one home besides his own. From that date, William has saved 109 homes, directly or indirectly in CT and South Eastern New York state.
Past Events
FTM started out simply, with a series of mortgage workshops open to the general public. Initially, they were held locally and frequently, and it was at one of these workshops that William first met Mutti, who came along as a curious homeowner that was headed into foreclosure.
The Future
These workshops continue today, however FTM's future plans extend far wider. The organization are planning a large scale 2012 concert tour across several major US metro areas, spreading the news and raising money about FTM's programs.
How We Work
How We Work
FTM operates as a non-profit corporation, with a pending 501(c) 3 tax exempt status. A 501(c) 3 is a type of incorporation that is used to set up a charitable corporation. A charitable company is a type of company that is set up with the intention of providing a service to the community, rather than making a profit.
What Is A 501(c) 3?
501(c) 3 corporations are exempt from paying income tax. In return for this exemption status, a 501(c) 3 corporation may not take part in election campaigns in an attempt to cause one candidate to be elected in preference over another. 501(c) 3 corporations are also prohibited from providing any monetary or material benefit to the principle or principles running the organization.
501(c) 3 corporations are an important means to allow individuals to set up organizations with the intention of the betterment of the community at large, without undue risk to personal wealth. 501(c) 3 corporations also allow charitable organizations to grow to a sufficiently large size that they are able to cause significant change. In effect, the organization can grow beyond the individual who started the organization, and even outlive him or her.
